The Sanctus Gong is rung by the acolyte during the Holy Eucharist as a reminder of our Lord's Last Supper and his commandment to "Do this in remembrance of me" while also reminding the congregation of the eternal presence of the Holy Spirit as a gift from God.

History

The Sanctus Gong and Sanctuary Lamp at Holy Cross were both given as memorial thanksgiving gifts for the survival and birth of the Allison family twins.
